Welcome to Silver Threads and Golden Needles! It's a funky & friendly yarn shop owned by a mother & daughter duo (Virginia Murphy & Kristin McDougall) & their best friend (Amy Murphy)! Located in the historic downtown shopping area of Franklin, North Carolina, we stock unique and traditional fibers from local farms and from around the world. Our mission is to feed the needs of Fiber Artists!

Just a few of our fibers include: Angora, Alpaca, Bamboo, Banana Leaf, Buffalo, Camel, Cashmere, Corn, Hemp, Llama, Paper Linen, Mohair, Silk, Sterling Silver, Stainless Steel, Soy, Yak and Qiviut. We even have 1 skein of the luxurious Vicuna!

Classes are available for knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, tatting and needle felting. Notions and books for these passions are stocked at all times and if we don't have it, we will do our best to get it for you. We also stock some juicy goods just for you, such as knitting gifts, bags and accessories.
